The summer is finally here! We didn't have much of a spring, but now that the sun is baking us alll, it's a perfect time to get back in the saddle or train for those tough races.
La Vida Buena Ranch is making some wonderful improvements for both boarders and riders, whether you compete or ride for pleasure. The thorough watering and grooming of the arenas is done to insure saety to both mounts and riders. Plowed up trails are being created along with some trail training obstacles. Old fencing is being replaced by new fences in most of the turn out pens and sand with drainage improvements have been added to the stall runs. Shelters in the turnouts are next on the list, as well as some additional corrals. Experienced staff have been hired to help keep your horses healthy and happy! If you haven't been out for awhile, come take a look!
We are sorry to lose Shayla Lund, our assistant instructor, for the 2010/2011 school year. Shayla will be attending college in Santa Barbara and will be missed by all, especially her young students! She does plan to return next summer to continue conducting lessons.
We would like to introduce the newest instructor on the Kissing S Team, Jessica Steele. Jessica is not new to the equine world, as she competed in barrel racing and pole bending during high school, followed by NBHA and NSBRA successful competition. She trained with Kissin S for many years and landed the training / instructing position at a barn in Yuba County, where she specialized in beginning youth. Jessica comes to us with lots of experience and enthusiasm and will be available on Sundays. We will be adding a special page about Jessica to our website soon!
I am still offering TEAM RACING barrel classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Western Horsemanship private or group classes are also available on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays by appointment. Please refer to our schedule page, which is effective August 1, 2010
Quality horses are still being accepted on a consignment basis, and I am offering evaluations and "tune ups.".
You are always welcome to contact
me with any questions and input.
